Even though there are 375 miles remaining, I feel I’ve made it home! Tomorrow I begin the trek up to The Lake of the Clouds hut passing over four 4,000 foot peaks: Jackson, Pearce, Eisenhower and Monroe; a total of 12 miles and probably 12 hours. But I’m actually excited to do it, the first time in weeks I really want to hike. 4 days off and time with family has been rejuvenating yes; but there’s something magical about the White Mountains.
