Yes Monday at 12:30PM I finished the Appalachian Trail by climbing Mt Katahdin. It was an extremely difficult climb, but a beautiful day at the top. I’m home now realizing I’ve slept most of this first day home. How I feel about finishing is not clear yet. About the only thing that is clear is that I’m glad I don’t have to get up and hike again tomorrow and then again tomorrow; And that I want to tell my story with over 5000 pictures and videos to choose from. So, I’m putting together a presentation. If you would like to be invited, please email me. “rmount@aol.com”.
Finished it!

NICELY DONE RAY!!!! That picture says it all!!!
Ray, great job. This photo would make a great tattoo. Congrats!,,
Awesome job Ray!
Yay Ray!! Now the next thing I need you to do from my bucket list is …
What an extraordinary accomplishment this is! Not just the distances covered, but also because you kept going despite the resistance of your parts. It required emotional endurance as well as physical endurance and, based on your posts, a willingness to keep negotiating with your parts. I am in awe.
Congrats Ray !!! I can’t wait to hear all about your discoveries.
Now it’s time to indulge in some of the luxuries that you’ve missed.
Spoil yourself and get ready for your next adventure.
You’ve been missed!
WOW!!!! YOU DID IT !!! Katahdin is a worthy adversary. Appropriate to finish your adventure with that difficult climb. Almost exactly 7 months if I recall your start date correctly. I am so proud of your tenacity. Quite inspiring. Glad you are home safe and sound. Take care, Lynne
Hi Ray,
Congratulations! A job well done! What an accomplishment.
