When you travel the Massachusetts turnpike west from Boston you pass under the Appalachian Trail just as you reach the Berkshires. That moment of a trip usually leads me to fantasize how magical it Would be to be one of those hikers crossing on that foot bridge.   Today I was one of those hikers crossing  over the traffic on that foot bridge only to find myself wishing I were in one of those nice air conditioned cars heading back home to Boston. So there we have it, another example of appreciating what you have (or whatever other philosophy you want to plug in there). So as I continued on over the turnpike footbridge I savored the moment, took in all the sounds, sights and recalled as much of the magic  of the last 4 months as I could.  So the next time I drive under the AT turnpike bridge, the memories of that magic will me waiting for me.
